Juan Cole's
Fisking the "War on Terror" is partisan -- he's a partisan writer -- and it seems barely to conceal a passionate disgust. But the content suits the topic, its presentation is unusually concise, and the style surprisingly free of heavy-handed rhetoric.

Cole has a current column in which he says, in essence, that there's no way to implement Iraq's permanent constitution without violating its temporary one:
